On Point Legal Leads Generating Competitively Priced Hernia Mesh Retainer Leads

The Dallas legal marketing firm On Point Legal Leads is generating competitively priced, strictly qualified Hernia Mesh Retainer Leads for mass tort law firms.

A Hernia Mesh Retainer Lead is a patient who has undergone a surgical procedure to have a woven material implanted in their body to repair a hernia; experienced complications that required a revision or corrective surgery, and; signed a retainer agreement to represent them towards pursuing a settlement from the manufacturer.

Hernia repair surgeries are among the most common types of procedures with estimates of more than 20 million procedures globally.  In fact, U.S. hospitals generate about $48 billion annually from hernia repair surgeries, showing they are a significant source of revenue.

A hernia occurs when an intestine pushes through an opening in the muscle or surrounding tissue in the abdomen or groin.

Although thousands of claims against the manufacturers of these hernia mesh products have settled, thousands are pending. In 2011, C.R. Bard settled over 2,000 cases for $184 million due to complications from their Kugel Composix hernia mesh implant.

According to the FDA, recalled mesh products are the source for many complications associated with surgical mesh used in hernia repairs. Pain, bowel obstruction, infection, hernia recurrence, adhesion, and organ perforation have been among the most frequent adverse events reported.

In some cases, the mesh has migrated, contracted, hardened, or folded.

Currently, there are three federal Multidistrict Litigations (MDL) against hernia mesh manufacturers:

  1. In Re: Ethicon, Case No: 1:17-md-02782-RWS (subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson) in the Northern District of Georgia.
  2. In Re: Davol, Inc./C.R. Bard, Inc., Case No: 2:18-md-2846 in the Southern District of Ohio.
  3. In Re: Atrium Medical Corp.Case No: 16-md-2753 LM in the District of New Hampshire.
