Calumet Capital Continues Expansion, Announces $300 million Commitment from Global Alternative Investment Firm.
MIAMI, January 28, 2022 — Calumet Capital, a private capital investor in contingent fee law firms, has announced a $300 million commitment from a global, multi-strategy alternative investment firm, as well as additional developments in its ongoing expansion.
Dan Carroll, Calumet’s founder and Chief Executive Officer, commented: “We are excited at the opportunities this commitment will provide to both our clients and investing partners. Calumet will continue to develop tailored financing solutions to contingent fee law firms, and for investors an opportunity to deploy capital in an attractive asset class.”
Calumet has also continued its recent growth and expansion, following the relocation of its headquarters to Miami in late 2020, with new headquarters space at 801 Brickell Ave. opening in late Spring 2022. Calumet has additional resources in Charlotte, Chicago, and Cincinnati. “Our new headquarters in the heart of Miami’s Financial District will support our growing team,” Carroll said, “and allow us to meet the accelerating market demands we’ve seen in the last 18 months.”
The most recent addition to Calumet’s leadership team, Matt Rimmer, Esq., joined the firm in December 2021, as Senior Director overseeing sales and marketing efforts. Matt previously served as the Vice President of Attorney Relations and Business Development for a commercial lender specializing in funding plaintiff firms. Prior to his work in litigation finance, Matt worked closely with Calumet’s Managing Partner Bill Mulvey at a market-leading expert and managed legal services provider.
